Onelli singer in a white beam on a stage with moving lights

Sound and lighting for events, planned for your venue

Speeches everyone can hear, music with weight on the dance floor and light that follows the evening. We set it all up and test it while the hall is still empty.

What you get

  • Sized to the room

Speakers, monitors and microphones chosen for your hall and the number of guests.

  • Speeches people hear

Microphones for toasts and speeches, with levels set so the back tables hear them too.

  • Light for each part

Soft light for dinner, beams and color on the dance floor, a tighter focus for the big moments.

  • Ready before the doors open

Every microphone, speaker and light is tested before your first guest arrives.

  • Venue checked early

Power, access and stage space are settled with the venue in advance.

Sound and lighting for events come with the Onelli full show package. That means a sound system sized to your venue and guest count, plus microphones for speeches and toasts. The stage and dance floor lighting changes as the night goes on. You can also book them as part of a custom package.

How much sound does an event need?

Enough to fill the dance floor without drowning out the tables. The right setup depends on the size of the room, the number of guests and the ceiling height. It also matters whether the party is indoors or outside.

A garden party for a few dozen friends needs a different system from a wedding hall full of guests. We size it to your event. When you write to us, mention the venue, the room and roughly how many guests you expect. Photos or a floor plan of the hall help even more.

Why do live singers need their own sound setup?

Voices are harder to get right than recorded music. Three singers need microphones that cut through the noise of the dance floor, and monitors so they can hear themselves and each other. Without that, harmonies drift and the vocals get lost under the beat.

That’s the difference between renting a speaker for a playlist and running sound for a live band. We plan our system for live voices from the start, and the speeches benefit too.

Will the speeches be heard at the back?

They will. We bring microphones for speeches and toasts and set the levels for the whole room, back tables included. During each speech our DJ brings the music down, and we keep an eye on volume and feedback.

A tip from a lot of weddings and company events: schedule the speeches while people are still at their tables, before the main dancing set. And send us the order of speakers in advance.

What does event lighting do through the night?

It tells the room which part of the evening it’s in. While guests arrive and eat, the light stays warm and soft so people can see each other. When the dancing starts, moving beams and color take over the floor. For the big moments, the light closes in on whoever is at the center of them.

Lighting and effects work together. Stage haze makes the beams visible in the air, which is why the dance floor looks so different once it’s on. More on haze, low fog and the other effects.

How early do you set up sound and lighting for events?

Well before your guests arrive. We come in early to set up, run the cables safely, test every microphone and aim the lights. The first thing your guests see is a finished room. How early depends on the venue and the size of the show, and we set the time with the venue manager.

What do you need from the venue?

Mainly power and space, plus a way to bring the equipment in. Good sound and light start with the venue’s power supply. We ask in advance where the sockets are and what load they can take. We also check the way in for the gear, and where the stage, the DJ and the dancers will go.

Outdoors you also need a steady power source and cover for the equipment in case of rain. If the venue has its own sound or lighting, tell us. We’ll talk it through with them and agree on what we use at your event.
